Hans J. Wegner's CH25 Chair has been a fixture in stylish lounges since it was first released in 1950, offering a body-hugging low profile and exceptional comfort from its woven back and seat. The specially tapered legs and sharp angled back give the chair its unique profile, and its tactile wooden frame is available in both ash and walnut, meaning it can fit into almost any home or business setting. The thick, supportive armrests just add to the relaxing comfort of the CH25.
THE STORY BEHIND THE ARNE JACOBSEN AJ FLOOR LAMP
The CH25 is just one of the seminal designs that Hans J. Wegner, seen by many as the finest Danish furniture designer in history, produced during the early 1950s. Where it differed from his previous designs was the way in which Wegener experimented with materials and techniques, employing a team of weavers and planning and bending wood into new, exciting shapes. The very first hand-woven CH25 was constructed from over 400 metres of paper cord, which took Wegner more than 10 solid hours to weave.
