Designed for the 1946 autumn exhibitions at the Guild of Cabinetmakers in Copenhagen, the 2214 two-seater is a classic of understated elegance. Boasting Morgensen's signature tall wooden legs, built to allow light to flow easily underneath the sofa, accentuating the space, like so many of his designs, the 2214 was constructed to make luxury affordable.The low back and tall armrests create a smooth, sleek silhouette, while the slight curve of the sides make it truly unique.

HANS J. WEGNER
Danish furniture designer, Hans J. Wegner was a pioneer of Organic Functionality, which seamlessly merged natural shapes with practical applications. His designs significantly contribute to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design.
